Lacrosse's Season Comes to an End at Limestone

GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Converse College lacrosse team saw its season come to an end on Monday afternoon after falling in the Conference Carolinas quarterfinals to Limestone by the final score of 21-1.

Limestone wasted no time building a lead, scoring the initial eight goals of the contest in less than 10 minutes of action. The Saints continued to pour it on, running the score to 16-0 leading into halftime as Converse struggled to find anything on the offensive end of the field.

After Limestone scored the first goal of the second half, Sharlize Burgos finally got the Purple and Gold on the board with an unassisted goal at the 20:09 mark of the final period. However, that was the last time Converse put the ball in the net, while Limestone scored four more times over the remainder of the game to take the 21-1 victory.

Burgos led the Valkyries with three shots, all on goal, while Flore Samsi collected a team-high four groundballs and two caused turnovers. Taylor Goldfuss also led the Vals with two forced turnovers of her own. Myka Jones tallied nine saves in goal on the afternoon.
