SPARTANBURG, S.C.- After finishing in eighth place last season at the 2015 Conference Carolinas Cross Country Championships, the Valkyries will look to rebound heading into a challenging 2016 schedule.
The 2016 Valkyries much like the 2015 squad will feature four meets in the Upstate area. Converse opens the season with the USC Upstate Eye Opener on September 2. The team will then travel to Greenville to participate in the Furman Classic the following week.
Converse will take two weeks off before heading to last season's NCAA DII Southeast Regional site in Wingate, N.C. for the Wingate Bulldog Invitational on September 24.
The Purple and Gold will then run in the USC Upstate Invitational to open the month of October followed by the Gene Mulling XC Invite in Greenville, S.C. on October 8th.
The Valkyries will take two weeks off to prepare for their 2016 postseason run starting with the Conference Carolinas XC Championships hosted by Belmont Abbey in Belmont, N.C. on October 21.
Converse will look to move on to the NCAA DII Southeast Regional Championships hosted by Montevallo in Montevallo, Ala. on November 5.
