SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse College volleyball team will open the 2019 Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Championships at King University on Tuesday evening. First serve for that contest is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
The Valkyries finished the regular season with a 10-22 overall mark while going 6-10 in the East Division of Conference Carolinas, earning the No. 4 seed. King and Emmanuel finished tied for first in the West Division, but the Tornado earned the No. 1 seed by virtue of a season sweep over the Lions.
This marks the first time since 2013 that Converse has made it to the tournament, coincidentally playing King in the opening round.
