Valkyries Snap Eight Match Skid With 3-1 Win Over Clark Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga.- Hot hitting by the Valkyries allowed Converse to snap out of the funk it was in to defeat Clark Atlanta in four sets; 23-25, 25-16, 25-23, 25-23 on Thursday night.  Converse improves to 6-12 on the season and dropping Clark Atlanta to 4-18.  Katie Butler and Journee English led the way with 12 kills apiece.

During the eight game losing streak, the Valkyries failed to hit above .200 as a team.  During the four set victory, Converse hit .346, .500, .286 and .464.  The Valkyries hit .394 as a team while limiting the Panthers to a .173 attacking percentage.

Clark Atlanta took a close set one 23-25.  Converse rallied back and took set two convincingly 25-16 outhitting the Panthers .500 to .000.

Converse would take set three and four 25-23 respectively.  Katie Butler (Savannah, Ga.) and Journee English (Columbia, S.C.) led the charge for the Valkyries racking up 12 kills apiece.  Candace Clack (MacClenny, Fla.) contributed nine kills on the night.

Krislyn Moore (Spartanburg, S.C.) tallied a double-double on the night after dishing out 35 assists and recording 10 digs.  English was one dig shy of her first double-double of the season racking up nine digs.  Aubrey Crosby (Spartanburg, S.C.) continues to lead the conference after recording 17 digs on the night.  Crosby upped her total to 303 digs on the season.

Converse continues its road trip heading to rival Limestone Oct. 11 at 2pm.
