KINGSPORT, Tenn. – The Converse College swimming team opened its season with a fifth place finish at the King Invitational on Saturday, October 5.
THE BASICS
CONVERSE RESULTS- 4th of 9
LOCATION- Kingsport Aquatic Center; Kingsport, Tenn.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lisa Studstill placed 3rd in the 200 back (2:16.71) and 7th in the 200 free (2:03.21).
- Victoria Fulton captured 3rd in the 100 fly (1:01.44).
- Jovana Mitic turned in a time of 2:35.84 in the 200 breast, good enough for 5th, while teammates Hannah Asselin (2:38.31) and Anna Pettus (2:40.15) finished 7th and 10th, respectively.
- Kaitlin Brown took 8th in the 100 back with a time of 1:04.43.
- The 200 medley relay team, consisting of Brown, Pettus, Fulton, and Mitic tallied 4th with a time of 1:57.54.
- Converse's 400 free relay team of Fulton, Brown, Asselin, and Studstill finished 4th after touching the wall at 3:51.10.
The Valkyries will return to the pool on Saturday, October 12, hosting King (Tenn.), Emmanuel (Ga.), and Breanu in a relay meet. That contest is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
