Valkyries Cruise to Tri-Meet Win

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Converse College swim team dominated a tri-meet against UNC-Pembroke and Pfeiffer University on Saturday, January 12. The Valkyries were able to secure the sweep after defeating the Braves, 132-49 and Falcons, 130-44.

Cassidy Rindge led the way for the Purple and Gold, capturing first place in her three individual events. Rindge recorded victories in the 500 free (5:45.49), 200 IM (2:22.72), and 100 breast (1:13.28). Lisa Studstill also had a magnificent meet, taking home two first-place finishes in the 200 free (2:02.86) and 100 back (1:03.28).

Sarah Russell won the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.63, while Tori Fulton set a lifetime best in the 100 free (56.33) to earn top honors in that race. Hannah Asselin and Maddison Sawyer were also able to conquer lifetime bests in the 500 free (5:47.04) and 50 free (27.38), respectively.

The Converse relay teams went undefeated on the afternoon with wins in the 200 medley (1:56.29) and 200 free (1:48.07).

Converse will return to the water on Friday, January 18 as it travels to face Brenau.
