Valkyries Swimming Gives Back To Community With Clean-Up And 5K Run

The Converse Swim team have been out in the community the past two weekends lending a hand and giving back to the community.

The Valkyries helped out with the Spartanburg Water 28th Annual Lake Sweep Clean-Up.  The team picked up over 4,500 pounds of trash and debris from the lake.

Along with the Lake Sweep Clean-Up, the Valkyries helped at the "One Small Step" for Prader-Willis Syndrome 5K run at USC Upstate.  The event was hosted by the Gregg and Spearman families to help fight PWS.

PWS is a genetic disorder caused by deletion of a part of chromosome 15.  PWS can cause obesity, intellectual disability and shortness in height.
