HOW IT HAPPENED

Converse came out strong in the contest, applying a great deal of pressure on the Bobcats defense after taking 23 shots, including nine on goal that required Hope Sanborn to take action. Converse was able to spread the ball around as eight different players registered at least one shot.

However, the match was tight the entire 90 minutes of regulation, forcing the game into tan overtime session. It was then that the Bobcats put the game away, scoring just 1:03 into the extra period. Ashley Herndon found herself in the right place at the right time as a pass from Pali Smith across the box allowed Herndon to push the ball past the keeper and give LMC the "golden goal" win.

Converse will be back in action on Thursday, October 31 as it steps out of conference to play host to Coker University. That contest is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
