HOW IT HAPPENED

First Half

Limestone put the pressure on the Valkyries early in the contest, rattling off a number of shots in the opening minutes but Darian Bankston was solid in goal as she kept a zero in the score column for the Saints. Converse caught a break in the 28th minute after Emma Hickson's shot bounced off the crossbar and back in play, leaving the match scoreless.

The Saints were able to break the deadlock in the 39th minute after Danielle Murray took a pass from Marina Montes Gomez and pushed into the back of the net, sending the game into halftime with Limestone leading by the single goal.

Second Half

Limestone did not waste time doubling its lead in the second half following a goal from Selina Boveleth in the 57th minute of action. That would be the last goal scored by either team as Converse played uphill the rest of the way, eventually falling to the Saints by the score of 2-0.
