Doolittle and Carlyle Earn All-Conference

GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Converse College soccer team has placed two players on the 2017 Conference Carolinas All-Conference team as announced by the league at a luncheon earlier this afternoon. Senior forward Nicole Doolittle found her name on the second-team, while junior midfielder Melissa Carlyle earned a spot on the third-team.

Doolittle is coming off a senior campaign that saw her lead the team in goals (6) as well as game-winning goals (2). For her career Nicole is the all-time leading goal-scorer for the Valkyries, compiling 26 in her illustrious career. She boasts a career .620 shot-on-goal percentage to go along with 56 career points. Doolittle's best game of the year came on September 19 when she posted two scores, including the game-winner, in the Valkyries 2-1 win over Belmont Abbey.

Carlyle turned in her best offensive performances since becoming a member of the Purple and Gold, tallying three scores on the season to go along a pair of assists. Two of the three goals scored by Carlyle this year were of the game-winning variety and her best performance came against King on October 21 where she posted two goals, including the decisive goal.
