Converse Lacrosse Set to Tackle 2019 Season

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse College lacrosse team and head coach Samantha McCarrick have announced its 17-game schedule for the spring of 2019. This year's slate includes 10 contests within Conference Carolinas.

"I'm really excited for this season," said McCarrick. "This fall the girls worked extremely hard on and off the field. The goal is to just continue making progress and have fun. I'm honored to be a part of this program and I believe our future is looking very bright. "

The Vals kick-off their campaign with a pair of road games. First up is Newberry on February 13 before the Purple and Gold head to Chowan University on February 16, kicking off the conference portion of the schedule.

Converse will then open the home season with four consecutive games at Hayden Abney Fulp Field, playing host to Roberts Wesleyan on February 20 followed by a non-conference tilt with South Atlantic Conference member, Mars Hill, on February 26. Conference foe Emmanuel will make the trip to Spartanburg on March 2, while Lees-McRae visits on March 9.

After a four-day break in the action Converse will begin a season-long three game road trip, starting with Belmont Abbey on March 13 followed by Point University (3/16) and North Greenville (3/23).

Limestone and Erskine will travel to Converse on March 26 & 30, respectively before the Valkyries step out of conference to face another SAC member in Wingate University on April 3.

A quick home game against Barton on April 6 will lead into a pair of road trips on April 10 & 13 as the Vals head to face Columbia on April 10 and Southern Wesleyan on April 13. Converse will welcome Montreat to campus on April 17 before ending the regular season with a trip to Mount Olive on April 20.
