Basketball Adds Hardin to Recruiting Class

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Head basketball coach Dean Walsh has announced the signing of Lindsey Hardin for the 2019 recruiting class. Hardin, a 5-10 guard from Landrum, S.C., caught the eye of the Valkyries coach with her ability to knock down three pointers.

"Lindsey is a gifted shooter with excellent range," said Walsh. "She's a scorer and has a high basketball IQ. She will give us an added shooter that we were looking for."

During her playing career for the Cardinals, Lindsey has averaged 13 points per game to go along with four rebounds and two assists. Her most impressive campaign came during her junior year as she averaged 17 points per game (Landrum school record), while shooting over 40% from the three point line.

A three-year varsity starter, Hardin also holds the Cardinal school record for most threes in a season (121). She has been named the Herald Journal Player of the Week on two occasions. As a junior Lindsey was added to the All-Region and First Team All-Area. Hardin is ranked in the top-5 in 2A as a senior.

"I'm excited we are able to add Lindsey to our family," Walsh added. "It's always great when you can keep the talented local players at home."
