SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Head coach Dean Walsh and the Converse basketball team have announced several events for the upcoming weekend slate of games. The Valkyries will take on Southern Wesleyan on Friday at 5 p.m. before hosting North Greenville on Saturday at 4 p.m.
The game on Friday against the Warriors will also be considered the "Daddy/Daughter Game". Any dad who wants to bring his daughter to the game will gain admission to the contest free of charge.
Saturday's contest versus the Crusaders will be the "Pink Game" for the Valkyries. All money received for admission will go directly to the Leukemia Fund of Greenville County in order to help patients battling the terminal illness.
Also, with Converse's recent partnership with Papa John's, Slice the mascot will attend the game on Saturday. He will be available for pictures with children and there will be a few mini games in between the Valkyries contest in which fans could win free Papa John's pizza.
