HOW IT HAPPENED

First Quarter

Barton took control of the game from the opening tip, scoring the contest's first 10 points before James connected on four in a row of her own to cut the deficit to 10-4 with 6:34 on the clock. That lead pushed back out to double-digits (14-4).

Marshea Murray knocked down 1-of-2 free throws and then earned a basket on an offensive putback, cutting the lead to 14-7, but the Bulldogs outscored CC 7-5 over the remaining four-plus minutes of the first quarter to take a 21-12 lead into the second period.

Second Quarter

Taura Jones knocked down a triple to open the second for Barton, but Paige Johnson came back with a deep shot of her own to keep the Vals close. However, a 10-1 burst by BC in just over four minutes of game time ballooned the lead to 34-16.

With the score at 37-18 in favor of the home team, Converse used a mini 6-0 run following layups from Johnson, Murray, and Dominique Hill to pull within 13 (37-24). Barton added two points to that lead and went into the locker room leading 42-27.

Third Quarter

Barton blew the game wide open with a 24-1 run to open the second half, expanding its lead to 66-28. Converse was outscored 31-12 during the third quarter and went into the fourth trailing by a wide margin of 73-39.

Fourth Quarter

The fourth quarter was not any better for Converse as Barton scored 15 of the first 19 points and continued to pad its lead until the final horn sounded with the Bulldogs recording the lopsided 103-53 win.
