Milestones Met In Regular Season Finale

GAFFNEY, S.C.- Converse dropped its regular season finale against nationally ranked Limestone in Conference Carolinas action on Tuesday evening.  Limestone's 45.1% shooting from the floor and 12 three-pointers led the Saints past the Valkyries 90-61.

Converse (4-22, 3-19) was led by freshman Logan Hollis (Spartanburg, S.C.) posting a career-high 19 points on 70% (7-10) shooting from the floor.  Margo Dill (Hilton Head, S.C.) scored 12 points hitting three from deep.  Jenna White (Fort Mill, S.C.) came off the bench and chipped in nine points going 3-5 from behind the arc.

On Converse's first made basket, Dill sank a three to move into ninth on the Converse all-time scoring list in the Division II era.  Ashley Salgado (Ottumwa, Iowa) made her mark on the program dishing out her 100th assist of the season at the 17:21 mark of the second half on a Jakyra Washington (Durham, N.C.) lay-up.  Washington finished the game with eight points.

Converse fell behind early after Limestone (27-1, 22-0) jumped out to a 14-3 lead before Hollis hit a short jumper.  The Saints would march again going on a 13-3 run to take a 27-8 advantage.  Converse would fall down 43-15 with 2:53 remaining in the first stanza before a Dill triple sparked a Valkyrie 10-3 run to end the half and take a 46-25 deficit into the break.

The Valkyries end the 2014-15 season with a 4-22 record (most since the 2010 season).  Salgado finished the season with 100 assists, third most in a single season and only third Valkyrie to acheive milestone in the Division II era.

Go Valkyries!
