Converse College and Athletic Director Joy Couch are pleased to announce the promotion of Jen George to head coach of the Valkyries Softball team. "We are pleased and excited for Jen George to become our Head Softball Coach," says Couch, "Her passion for her sport and her commitment to Converse Athletics ensures our program will continue the momentum."
George enters this roll after spending the previous two seasons as the graduate assistant with the Valkyries. She began her career with the Valkyries in their inaugural season and held the role of recruiting coordinator in her second year. Her main focus was coaching the infield and assisting withmhitting.
During her collegiate career, George was a four-year member of the St. Andrews University softball team. She was a two-time selection to the Appalachian Athletic Conference 2 nd team and AAC All-Academic team. George also was named an NAIA Scholar Athlete.
"I would like to thank Joy Couch for this opportunity," said George, "I am excited to build on the foundation that has been set and look forward to the potential of this program."
