HOW IT HAPPENED

Game One: Converse 0, Limestone 8 (6 innings)

After a quiet top half of the first, Limestone scored two runs to break the scoreless tie on two hits.

Brett Harvey tried to start a rally in the top of the second by leading off the inning with a hit by pitch.  Harvey would move to second on a throwing error but would be left stranded.

The Saints opened up their advantage to 5-0 in the bottom of the second scoring three runs.

Converse had a chance to push across a run in the top of the fifth but left the bases loaded.  Hannah Boring started off the inning with a walk.  Shelby Bullock reached on an infield single followed by a bunt single by Marissa Steadman with one out.  A pop up and groundout ended the threat.

Limestone scratched across a run in the bottom of the fifth.  Anna Bennett put herself in scoring position in the top of the sixth with a two out triple but was stranded.

The Saints were able to push across the run-rule score on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth to take the contest 8-0.

Game Two: Converse 0, Limestone 4

Limestone jumped on the board with four runs in the bottom of the first inning to lead 4-0.

Brett Harvey was hit by a pitch to start the top of the second inning.  A sacrifice bunt by Anna Bennett and a ground out by Ashton Coker moved Harvey into scoring position at third but was left stranded.

The Valkyries threatened in the top of the third putting runners in scoring position at second and third.  Marissa Steadman singled to left center for the first hit of the contest.  Elizabeth Aguilar reached on a fielder's choice followed by a bunt single by Tristan Harvey.  Mckayla Davis gave it a ride but was caught in centerfield to end the inning.
