HOW IT HAPPENED

First Half

Converse took to the offensive end early in the contest, posting two shots on goal in the game's first three and a half minutes. However, from that point the first period was a defensive battle as neither team broke through on the scoreboard.

Concordia Wisconsin went on the attack to start the second frame, firing four consecutive shots at goal in a span of 27 seconds, but Petitto was a wall between the pipes, not allowing the Falcons to push ahead.

Second Half

The second half mirrored the first as both teams struggled to beat the opposing keeper. Converse looked poised to take the lead midway through the third, but Morgan Berndt and Kiersten Bangit had their shots knocked away by the CWU goalie.

Concordia Wisconsin saved its best offensive attack for last, reeling off a quarter-high 12 shots in the final frame. None of them more important than Megan McPike's shot at the 56:44 mark, which gave the Falcons the game's only score.

UP NEXT

Converse will make the quick turnaround, facing Transylvania tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. at the home of Concordia Wisconsin.
