HOW IT HAPPENED

First Half

The first two thirds of the opening quarter were a draw as neither team could post the game's first goal. However, that changed in the 12th minute of play as Newberry's Brady Keeler notched her eighth goal of the season to give the Wolves the 1-0 lead.

Newberry tried to extend the advantage in the second quarter, but Caroline Bailey, playing in her first game of the season, was solid between the pipes, holding NC to the lone goal and sending her Valkyries into halftime only trailing by the single goal.

Second Half

After a flurry of offense on both ends, Newberry doubled its lead at the 39:18 mark following a goal by Kristyna Oyola. Haley Smith added a score midway through the fourth quarter to give the Wolves the final margin of victory, 3-0.
