HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter

The opening period was a defensive battle as neither team could establish any real threat on the offensive side of the field. Converse, however, was able to stretch the Trojans defense and begin to penetrate inside the circle, earning two penalty corners during the first 15 minutes.

Second Quarter

Quarter number two mirrored the first as Converse spent the majority on the offensive end, but could not post the game's first score, sending the two teams into the locker room in a scoreless tie.

Third Quarter

Converse finally broke through just minutes into the third period after Maloney sent a beautiful ball into the circle and Berndt collected it, firing it past the Trojans keeper for the 1-0 score. That lead quickly doubled in the 36th minute following a penalty corner for the Vals. Bangit sent a ball towards the box allowing Bonaventura to collect it and blast a missile into the back of the cage.

Fourth Quarter

Mount Olive attempted a comeback in the final period but Converse's defense was up for the task, holding the Trojans at-bay while Berndt punched in an unassisted goal for good measure at the 58:34 mark, giving Converse the 3-0 win.
