HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
Converse wasted absolutely no time jumping ahead. Following a penalty corner, Daija Krygier took a beautiful pass from Bo Linders and placed it in the back of the cage for the 1-0 lead two minutes into the contest.
However, Bellarmine scored the equalizer just three minutes later after a penalty corner of its own. The Knights were able to add a couple more shots over the remaining part of the first half, but Ciriaca Petitto was strong in goal, keeping the contest knotted at 1-1 heading into the halftime intermission.
Second Half
Both defenses were on their toes throughout the third period of play. However, Bellarmine's Merit Harris connected on a pair of goals in a matter of seconds late in the quarter to send the Knights to the final period of play with a 3-1 lead.
Converse was able to fire off a few shots in the final period, but unable to find the back of the box again. Bellarmine added an additional goal midway through, taking the contest by the final of 4-1.
