Converse Field Hockey Falls 2-0 to Limestone During Season Finale

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Converse College Field Hockey team (1-15) completed their final game of the season after facing the nationally-ranked Limestone Saints (12-4) Friday evening on home turf. The Valkyries were unable to get on the board and allowed two points in their loss to the Saints.

Flore Samsi led the Purple and Gold with two shots (one on goal) followed by teammates Daija Krygier and Bo Linders posting one shot each.

Limestone got on the board early from a score by Kate Remley just seven minutes into the game. Converse collected its first shot on goal at the 18th minute, but missed wide. Another score for the Saints late in the first half by Remley gave Limestone the 2-0 advantage going into the half.

Converse took the first shot of the second period before the Saints took over possession for much of the remainder of the game. However, the Valkyries defense was stellar, not allowing a single goal over the following 35 minutes. Unfortunately, the Saints defense was just as impressive, holding off the Vals to take the 2-0 win.
