CLEMSON, S.C. – The Converse College Equestrian team showcased its talents during day one of the Clemson Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Chloe Butcher led the way for the Valkyries with a third place finish in Novice Over Fences, as well as fourth in Novice Equitation on the Flat. Julia Williams captured third in Intermediate Over Fences on the afternoon.
Caroline Gilliam had a very impressive showing, pointing out of her division and qualifying for regionals with a fifth place mark in Novice Over Fences. Gilliam also collected fifth in Novice Equitation on the Flat. Jennifer Matusik rounded out the top performers for the Valkyries with fifth and sixth place finishes in Novice Equitation on the Flat and Novice Over Fences, respectively.
Converse will return to action tomorrow morning for the second and concluding day of the show.
