Two Riders Move On To Zones

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Converse Equestrian Team will be sending two riders to Zone Finals in Ocala, Florida after competing in Regionals over the weekend.

Jennifer Matusik took home the blue ribbon and was named Champion of Walk Trot.  Matusik qualified for Zone Finals.

Addie Ledbetter was named Reserve Champion with a second place finish in Novice Equitation on the Flat, while qualifying for Zone Finals.  Ledbetter also finished third in Novice Fences.  The top two in each category move on to Zone Finals.

Lydia Davidson placed fourth in Intermediate Flat.   Madison Orr was recognized as the 4th place rider within the Open division within the Cacchione Cup.

Josephine Grimmer placed sixth out of 17 riders in Walk, Trot, Canter.  Corinne Flanary also placed sixth in Novice Flat alongside Julia Williams who placed fifth in Novice Fences.

The team also had the opportunity to meet Bob Cacchione who founded the IHSA 50 years ago and the team had the honor of meeting him at Regionals. "We are thrilled to be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the IHSA with a record setting year!," said Coach Suzanne Russell.

Zone Finals will be at Kimberden Farm in Ocala, Florida on April 1st.
