CHARLESTON, S.C.- The Converse Equestrian Team finished fifth in the region as the team wrapped up the 2014-15 season at the College of Charleston Invitational over the weekend. Converse finished the season with 146 points. College of Charleston, Georgia Southern, Clemson and South Carolina finished above the Valkyries.
Catherine Billings was named Reserve Champion Cacchione Cup Open High Point Rider Region 3 finishing second in Open Flat. Billings was also named Reserve Champion Open over fences. Addie Ledbetter won second place in Novice Flat and fourth in Novice over Fences. Ledbetter finished fifth in the Region for Walk/Trot/Canter. Katie Dixon finished third in Walk/Trot/Canter. Heather McCrary won second place in Walk/Trot.
Cecilia Pedersen finished sixth in Intermediate Flat and finished her season in fifth place in Novice Flat. Lydia Lemmons finished sixth in Novice Flat. Lauren Hooks also finished sixth in Novice over Fences.
The Team received a ribbon for placing fifth in the Region. Pedersen and Ledbetter also received fifth place ribbons in their respective events. Billings will continue on to the Zone Finals hosted by Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Ga. March 28, 2015.
