SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse College tennis team was selected as the winner of a $500 ITA grant as announced by Corey Pegram of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
The Valkyries, who completed more than 50 hours of community service in the month of October, were entered into a drawing with various other members of the ITA. Converse was randomly selected among all programs who completed at least 50 service hours during the ITA Community Service Month presented by Limoneira.
"Community service is a big part of our team's core values as well as the core values of the college," said head coach Katie Mancebo. "We are absolutely thrilled and honored to have won this award!"
