SPARTANBURG, S.C. - As the semester and 2016 year is coming to a close, 101 student-athletes produced a grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the Fall semester.
Cross Country led the way with a team GPA of 3.22, with Lauren Morris, Elizabeth Noland, Kensley Echols, Brittany Sandifer and Autumn Stone making the list.
Swimming posted the second best team GPA of 3.19. Hannah Asselin, Julia Campbell, Hannah Dickinson, Laura Ann Dixon, Kathy Herman, Marianna Markley, Ellie Michael, Kendall Polk, Cassidy Rindge, Sarah Russell and Lisa Studsill touched the 3.0+ wall.
Soccer came in third with a 3.16 team GPA. Scoring a 3.0+ for the team was: Anna Aceto-Korn, Julia Babic, Jenny Bennett, Jordan Brady, Melissa Carlyle, Claudia Coffin, Mariah Elliott, Maggie Gaston, Johanna Gelz, Natalie Gilmore, Riley Hartnett, Nomi Henkin, Hallie Lycans, Gianna Mancinelli, Cassidy Marshall, Anna Meister, Kayla Noon, Laurel Parris, Anyah Preston, Kayla Reeve, Michelle Rohde, Morgan Tyler, and Josie Waitrovich.
Golf finished just behind Soccer in the standings with a team GPA of 3.15. Making the cut were: Megan Dresser, Marley Felthousen, Marisa Daquil Kawabe, Grace Magera, Grace McEachern, Samantha McMillin, Elaina Smith, Ansley Vaughan, and Vienna Winalski.
Track and Field finished the fall sprint with a 3.0 with Deja Attaway, Sequoya Davis, Alison Jouan, Aileen Kovarik, Alex Legg, and Ciera Richards, along with the Cross Country members making the mark.
Softball finished the fall slate with a 2.98 team GPA. Anna Bennett, Ashton Coker, McKayla Davis, Brianna Harrill, Tristan Harvey, Kelsie Land, Brianna Putnam, Kayce Shelton, Kabrianna Spalding and Marissa Steadman found the 3.0 zone.
Basketball and Equestrian finished the semester with a 2.97 team GPA. Basketball produced Hannah Anderson, Tatum Boggs, Taylor Cruse, Ashtin Davis, Briana Hill, Dominique Hill, Erin Horne, Paige Johnson, Kassidy Moorhouse and Christian Thompson on the scoreboard.
Katie Dixon, Corinne Flanary, Addie Ledbetter, Nicole Lidzbarski, Jennifer Matusik, Madison Orr, and Carson Rehn showed a 3.0 for Equestrian.
Victoria Bailey, Kat Goldfuss, Brittni Jones, Maria Knott, Aubrie Lauderdale, Hadiyah Lewis, and Kaitlin Milde of the Lacrosse team scored a 3.0+ GPA.
Tiffany Bain, Jenna Brock, Kassie Burkett, Nikki Moore, Alexis Pitts, Madelena Rodriguez and Deanna Unger of the Volleyball team, as well as, Caroline Bertling, Kaitlin Knight, Steffi Kong, Carlie Peeler, Alex Schlesener, and Morgan Trask of the Tennis team, all produced a serve of 3.0+.
Classes start on January 4, 2017 for Jan term.
