Every month throughout the Converse Athletics' season, the Converse Athletic Department will name a Valkyrie of the Month for their performance in their respective sport.
Valkyrie of the Month honor goes to Lisa Studstill of the Converse College Swimming Team.
During the month of December Studstill was a catalyst for the Valkyries in the pool, earning Conference Carolinas Swimmer of the Week honors. During a tri-meet versus Chowan and Mars Hill, Studstill collected four first-place finishes. Individually, Studstill picked up top honors in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:01.07. She was also first place in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:14.76.
In relays, Studstill was part of the winning team in the 200 freestyle relay (1:43.97) and the 200 individual medley (4:10.15). She was also able to establish a new lifetime-best in the 200 free during the 2019 Queens Fall Frenzy.
